Broadway Shows on Stream: The Musical Stage Online!

As New Yorkers prepare for the holidays, Christmas shows are all the rage, but some theaters are still closed this year. Here are some of the best Christmas shows to watch online, whether you’re celebrating Christmas at home, in the theater, or even in your local theater. Here are the best Broadway shows on stream!

Old Globe: Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas! On the Radio

How the Grinch stole Christmas and how he stole it himself: A Christmas story, a musical comedy about how the Grinch steals Christmas from him. How the Grinch stole Christmas – a Christmas musical about the giver and the thief of the Christmas tree. 

General nervousness about 2020 has prevented the Old Globe from presenting its first Christmas show in San Diego, where the company is working with KPBS to create a free audio stream that will only be broadcast four times. 

Ballets Ruses: The Slutcracker

Clara is presented by director and choreographer Vanessa White as a toy that plays with toys both in the first half-hour of the play and in the second half of the performance. 

Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol

Edward Watts reprises his role as Santa Claus, and the cast includes the original cast from the Broadway production of “A Christmas Carol. Betsy Wolfe, a waitress, plays a Wall Street predator who may need to learn something about the Christmas spirit. The cast includes actors from the series “The Christmas Story,” which fully captures the story of Christmas in New York City in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The cast of the “Christmas Carol” series and the original creators of the play will also be there. 

The cast on Broadway also includes the original cast of “A Christmas Carol” and actors from the series “The Christmas Story.” The project is full of original characters from the series, such as Santa Claus, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, as well as the Christmas story. 

The Nice List

The wonderful Jefferson Mays, who plays the title role, convinced Susan Lyons and director Michael Arden to raise the stakes to $50 for his new play, adapted by Tony Bennett. Tickets cost $25 for a three-day rental, and proceeds will be distributed to participating theaters according to the ZIP code. Tickets cost $50 but are also available for $20 for three days of rental and $10 for the first two days. 

The Jinkx & DeLa Holiday Special

James Monroe, who won a Tony for Genius and Aladdin, plays Nick in this free new family musical that explores the relationship between a young man and his father Nick. Alan Muraoka will direct the show, which is being cast by Michael Arden, Susan Lyons, and Tony Award-winner and New York Times best-picture winner Michael J. Fox, who was nominated the year before. 

Donny O’Donnell plays the title role in this musical about the problems of inventory and classification that have to do with the absence of a great man. Expect plenty of musical comedy and sharp punchlines, but expect much more. In this one-hour spectacular action, the queens are divided into two groups that work together against the will of their king and queen. 

This hour-long musical about the life of a young woman and her relationship with her mother, Queen Victoria, takes a new twist. 

Manual Cinema: A Christmas Carol

The Manual Theater performs the show live more than 20 times in December, and tickets cost $15 each. To give you the joy of this year’s Christmas season, the company has released a Christmas song that involves a modern widow and an anti-humbugger.
